Free Prospects – Part 2

In the last newsletter we told you the best 5 places to locate free prospects.

Today we are going to look at some of the best ways to get free prospects.  

 We will look at two in particular: 1. Facebook 2. Blogs – Google  

Facebook: If you don’t have a business facebook page, Shame on you! If you are with one of the companies that frowns on you having a business page, Shame on them!  

You will have to use a personal facebook page and keep it within compliance by not mentioning your company or using facebook to market what you do. It will not be a problem if you do what I am about to suggest since you are utilizing your clients facebook to get your story out.  

 I am limited on space so here it is in a nutshell:  

 • Ask your client if they have a facebook page

• Ask them to write a recommendation for you or your agency and post it to their facebook wall

• Have a template that they can use as a guide to make it easier, and to make sure they get important information like your contact phone number, website address, and email address correct.  

 Guess what? 95% of the agents and staff that could benefit from this tip will not use it. You know why? Because they will say they don’t have time to do it. To me that is basically saying I don’t have time to make any additional money, and I definitely don’t have time to talk to my customers.   So what do they really do all day?

Blogs – Free Google Tool

Let’s move on to number 2: Blogs

  By now you should be ready to start a blog. Not only will a blog help you showcase your insurance knowledge, it will also help your blog and website to get a higher search engine placement on Google.   The key is to make sure that your article contains key words and phrases that people are searching for on the internet. How do you find them? A free tool called the Google keyword tool. https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal  

Let’s say you want to write an article on insurance claims. Here is how you use the tool:  

 1. Use the tool to look up “insurance claims”

2. Look down the list and see what other keywords related to insurance claims are being searched

3. Make sure your blog article contains the keywords and phrases that are being searched the most

4. Use the most searched keywords as the tags for your blog or article.   Make sure you have the keywords and phrases throughout your website as well!
